Let your dog sleep peacefully! | Dogalize
Have you ever asked yourselves how do dog sleep? Well, they sleep quite differently from us.
Generally, human sleep pattern is binary: people spend 12 hours or more awake in the daytime and sleep 8 hours a night.
Dogs sleep pattern is different: they spend the 20% of their time in a day awake and active, the 30% awake but quiet and the remaining 50% sleeping (the percentages are spread throughout the day).
Therefore, dogs sleep more than humans! And they need to sleep more because their REM phase – which is the deepest rest – is shorter.
The average dog sleeps 12-14 hours a day. Puppies and large sized dogs sleep up to 18 hours a day
