Passenger Delays Flight To Remove Dogs Left Under The Rain | Dogalize
A passenger of Delta Airlines felt so disturbed after he noticed two dogs left out in the pouring rain, that he denounced it to the personnel, causing the flight delay.
The passenger, Matthew Hills, alerted Delta personnel that someone had left two dogs locked in their kennels out on the tarmac in the pouring rain at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
A Facebook post from Matthew Hill to the airlines page aroused attention:“Flight delay in Atlanta. At least I’m in the plane. Come on Delta Airlines, bring the dogs in from the rain.”
It took time for Delta to respond asking Hill what gate he was at, in order to escalate the time needed to move the dogs safely out of the rain. Delta thanked Matthew for the information and stated they“involved upper management and local leadership in ATL in order to prevent this in the future. Your bringing this to our attention is very appreciated and we can’t thank you enough.”
New regulations beginning March 2016, state the airline will no longer accept pets as checked baggage, but will continue to transport allowable pets in aircraft cabins. Delta will also accept shipment of pets for travel within the United States as freight through Delta Cargo.
