Shelter Dogs Employed As “Ball Boys” For Brazil Open | Dogalize

Part of the world seems to be more and more conscientious about shelter dogs issue.

Four rescue dogs from a shelter in Brazil have been employed to be “ball boys” at the Brazil Open Tennis Tournament. The event took place last week in Sao Paulo, and the dogs were used in an effort to spread awareness about adoption, and overcrowding at shelters.

The dogs were picked up from the shelter and specifically trained for accomplishing the task. “These are dogs that were mistreated,” trainer Andrea Beckert explained. “We had to make them adapt, feel the environment, the court, the noise of the balls and the noise of the people.”

The initiative seems to have found the approval of the animal lovers community and audience in general. Let’s hope it can bode well for the future of these dogs.
