Comfort Dogs Sent To Orlando To Support Survivors And Families | Dogalize
Comfort dogs have been dispatched to Orlando to support grieving relatives, wounded victims and first-responders in the wake of the nightclub shooting.
More than a dozen golden retrievers and dog handlers arrived in the Florida city from all over the country on Monday.
After meeting for instructions in the city center, they were each sent to different scenes – vigils, hospitals, police stations, homes, and the Lutheran Church’s LGBT outreach center.They are brought up to provide emotional support for humans at times of stress and devastation.
Comfort dogs are regularly dispatched to scenes of a shooting or terror attack – including Boston after the marathon bombing. Orlando will see one of the biggest ‘national deployments’ of golden retrievers to date as the city – and the nation – reels following the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
So Phoebe, Gracie, Kye, Mahlah, Sasha and the others are going to give a little help to the people who went through this huge tragedy, Good job guys, do your best! Dogalize is close to the survivors and the families.
