How can a cat face actually talk?
A cat face has pretty interesting features. It is the cutest part of a cat and is the one that melted us to take them home in the first place. Research conducted by California-based cat behaviorist, Arden Moore, seems to connect the shape of a cat face with personality.
Even though Moore´s conclusion are not scientifically proven, the similarities found between cat face and personality are pretty accurate. “Cat face geometry is one of the best tools for matching a cat to a person” says Moore, who is also the author of ‘Fit Cat: Tips & Tricks to Give Your Pet a Longer, Healthier, Happier Life’. “It especially helps with “mutt” cats whose breed cannot be determined.”
Let´s take a quick look at what are the cat face shapes and what do they reveal about their personality.
Square cat face
The Maine Coon, the largest domestic cat, has a square face. Just like the Coon, these cats tend to have large bodies. These cats are very keen in pleasing their owners. They are loving and pretty affectionate.
These cats build strong bonds with their owners and love to snuggle with them. They are confident and independent. Square-faced cats are sometimes called the “retrievers of the cat world.”
Triangular cat face
Due to the shape of their face, these cats often boast large ears, with faces that narrow on the nose, giving it its triangular shape. These cats are energetic, curious, smart, and usually, very vocal.
People names them “the herding dogs of the feline worlds”. The Siamese and the Abyssinian are among these pets.
Round cat face
A cat that has a round face is surely one that has large eyes and rounded bodies. A good example of a round-faced cat is the Persian cat. They are low-energy, easily frightened, and sweet cats that know they can count on us.
These “lapdog cats, as Moore described, will quietly make you good company”.
