Tennis superstar Serena Williams has always been fond of dogs. We have been witnesses not only of her passion on the court but also when it comes to her dogs. The One That Passed Away

When Serena Williams was 17 years of age, she won her very first Grand Slam. This is definitively a memorable time for her. But then she also remembers it because two weeks before this milestone, she got her Terrier, Jackie.

That rare sadness that you get when you lose your pet went through Serena. At age 16, on November 2015, Jackie had to say goodbye and Serena had to let go.

Today really is hard for me. My special friend which I got at 17 (2 weeks before I won my very first Grand Slam) left me today,” she wrote on Instagram back then.

Probably the words that hit fans the most were the ones she included in the same post, “I miss her so much. I got out of the shower this afternoon and she was not there to lick my leg as she always did every day to remind me how much she loved me,” she said. “I feel so lucky to have such a special friend. Give your dog, cat, pet a big hug.”

The Adorable Chip

But then there is Chip, who also suffered the loss of Jackie. Chip is a Yorkshire Terrier who is the fascination of Williams. Serena loves to take videos of the little pooch as he runs around being a pup.

He even cheers up for her and encourages her to her best. Serena is now expecting a child from her fiancé, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian.
