There is not really a 100% hypoallergenic dog breed, but some of them shed hair very little and pose minimum allergy risks to their owners. Here’s a list of dog breeds that seem to not shed enough hair to cause an allergy on their master.

Maltese Terrier

Despite having that gorgeous white silky coat, you will hardly find any of those hairs on your couch. The Maltese Terrier pups are usually very loving and playful.

Tibetan Terrier

The Tibetan Terrier is full of hair,  yet his considered a member fo the hypoallergenic dog breeds. What is striking about this breed is him being mostly hair but sheds very little.  They do shed very little and they require grooming.

Portuguese Water Dog

This muscular dog is very active and also very loving. Portuguese Water Dog is considere within the hypoallergenic dog breeds because he sheds very little. However, since he is a very hairy breed, he does require constant grooming.

Brussels Griffon

These cutie and friendly guys are perfect for a family with children. Since Brussels Griffons shed almost nothing at all, they are considered hypoallergenic.


All the three sizes of poodles (toy, miniature, and standard) are considered hypoallergenic. One of the most popular breeds in the world is not know to be a shedder at all.

West Highland White Terrier

Also known as Westies, the West Highland White Terrier does shed but only a little.  They surely do not shed enough to make their masters allergic.

Kerry Blue Terrier

The Irish Blue is a dog trained to be a hard-working dog. It is a good hunter and also a good guardian for the flock. The hair texture of a Kerry Blue Terrier is almost as thin as humans and it hardly falls on the floor.
